A Server Hold lock is applied by the Registry to your .XYZ domain name if it is reported for involvement in abuse. This lock prevents your domain from resolving. You can verify the status of your domain by checking the WHOIS database.

Check your domain’s status on https://nic.xyz/whois

To lift the Server Hold from your .XYZ domain name, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Registry’s website to understand the specific abuse case associated with your domain.

  2. Enter your domain name and complete the Captcha to view your domain’s status.


  3. If suspended, the lookup result will indicate that your domain has been reported for abuse.


    Click on the Request Review button, which will display a form.

  4. Check if your domain name is blacklisted by visiting each of the following sites:
  5. If your domain is blacklisted, fill out the blocklist removal forms on each of these sites to get your domain removed from their listings. After removal, recheck the listings and take appropriate screenshots.
  6. Upload the screenshots as evidence under Section 3 of the Registry’s form, “Enter Required Evidence.” Enter your Name and Email Address and submit the form.

You will receive an acknowledgment email from the Registry. They will review your request and, if approved, unsuspend your domain and lift the Server Hold lock, notifying you via email.
